LUPITA`S STOLEN DRESS RETURNED, THIEF SAYS IT`S FAKE

The world (or at least the 2015 Oscars red carpet) was Lupita Nyong'o's oyster: Last year's best actress winner looked divine and a little edgy in a gown seeded with more than 6,000 pearls that was designed just for her by Calvin Klein Collection's Francisco Costa. Click on for closeups…
Dress to Steal

It's a modern day heist -- a real heist! Lupita Nyong'o's elaborate Oscar dress was stolen from her hotel room this week and the surveillance tapes didn't helping to nab the thief. The value of the dress? A cool $150,000. However, on Friday afternoon TMZ reported that the dress had been returned to The London hotel. The thief claims he took the dress to see if the pearls were real and returned it to the Fitness Center bathroom after he concluded the pearls were fake. Turns out the guy just wanted the world to know that Hollywood is fake. Weird, huh?
